Gallery is awarded Challenge Grant from Foundation
The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is very pleased to be participating in the Walter & Duncan Gordon Challenge Grant program in 2008. The Foundation assists public galleries in Ontario to build their permanent collections. Through the Challenge Grant program, funds raised by participating local gallery communities are matched by the Foundation. Challenge grants are designed to leverage funds for acquisitions that will strengthen collections and often help galleries to qualify for matching funding from The Canada Council for the Arts. Challenge grants are meant to stimulate volunteer support and donations of money and artwork, thereby raising the local profile of the galleries, enabling galleries to strengthen their collections and boosting community commitment to the importance of art and collections. We thank the Walter & Duncan Gordon Foundation for this generous support.
